Gigo

Gigo is a highly customizable yet very simple web based POP3/imap email client. Unlike other online email clients like Squirrel Mail, the emphasis has always been on simplicity, with regard to installation, configuration and usability. It also has very low system requirements - a well configured server with PHP 4.3 or newer is all that's required. No database is needed.

There is now a F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions) list available offering both general and technical information.

Gigo 0.9.0 Released

Version 0.9.0 (beta) of Gigo is now available on the Gigo page. After feedback from previous closed beta, this version has seen quite a bit of behind-the-scenes work done and has many additions, fixes and improvements including:

  • Greatly Optimized Email Object.
  • Emails show date in a neat, readable format.
  • Emails intelligently highlighted for readability and to avoid accidental deletion.

This is the first open beta version. Please note that it is unsupported and I am not responsible for any problems that it may cause. That said, it is very unlikely to cause any grief and if you need help, chances are I'll be more than happy to help out. I especially want to hear of any bugs so these can be fixed before the 1.0 release!

Available Installations

The public installation »
This is the latest semi-stable installation. As this project is still in pre-beta form it won't be perfect but it should be very functional.

Note: Gigo is now in beta form so it still might not act as desired and it may be insecure. Neither Black Cat Media nor Rob Cunningham are reponsible in the unlikely event of something going wrong.
